Hello there Novelicious lovelies and happy Friday!
This afternoon, as the cold begins to set in here in the UK, we've gone for a fun Novelicious Natters to talk about our favourite book for any given situation.
Book marketing is often seasonal – or at the very least, situational. There are beach reads and summer reads, new books for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. But does the time of year affect your reading choice? Do you read one book on the commute simply because it's lighter to carry? Do you have a favourite to read on a sunny day and one that's needed when curled up in a massive jumper trying to get warm by the radiator (or if you're going all out – a log fire).
Here at Novelicious we just love peaking into our favourite authors' writing rooms – but where is the best place to read those books? Curled up in bed? In a big comfy chair with a mug of something hot? Outside in the open air?
It might seem odd to read a book set in the hot sunshine when curled up in the cold – but perhaps that's the perfect time as that's when you need the heat! Mood is important when reading crime novels – it wouldn't be nearly as scary if you were in a well-lit noisy house. You'd really need calm, dark and eeriness to get the full effect. Or do you?
Let us know your favourite book to read in different situations – or just your favourite place to crack open a book – in the comments below.
