I don't know about you, but since the advent of digital photography I have slipped out of the habit of getting pictures printed and putting them into albums. Most of the time, this is fine: I have far more images that I would ever need (or want) to have in physical form, and can order up a fully-printed album using my digital pictures easily and cheaply. However, there is something undeniably pleasing about a traditional photo album, and about the almost-meditative act of sorting and choosing images to put into one. Not to mention the years of pleasure that a physical album will bring. If you're feeling nostalgic and fancy storing some photographs oldy-timey-style, then check out these beautiful albums.
1. Kirstie Allsopp is truly taking over
the world. She now has a stationery range to go with her books and
home wares and, as you'd probably expect, it's very pretty indeed. This album has 18 acid-free heavyweight card pages interleaved with vellum so you could use it as a scrapbook as well as a photo album. It costs £20 from Paperie.
2. This beautiful, handmade embossed leather album is both fairtrade and ecologically sound. The pages are made with khadda paper which is made from recycled cotton left over from the garment industry in India. There are 30 pages, enough to hold 240 photographs, and the album costs £34.95 from Not On The High Street.
