opportunities on offer for wannabe writers and those of you who might want to

Competitions:
There are
some BRILLIANT writing competitions, particularly if you're writing women's
commercial fiction or chick lit. Here are just a few...
**Wattpad
have launched a Chick Lit Competition. Write a 15,000 word chick lit story on
Wattpad and upload it by the deadline.

**You've
got less than 3 weeks now to enter the fantastic Sunlounger Competition run by
Belinda Jones.
Prize:
You will have YOUR story published in the Sunlounger Anthology and win a
suitcase full of travel-related goodies. The winning story will be published
alongside some fabulous female writers (including our very own editor - Kirsty
Greenwood!) in a book out this Summer.

Yeovil Short Story Prize is always an annual goodie in the short story world.
There are novel, short story and poetry sections. Great prizes.

Short Story also closes this month! This new international competition
welcomes both published and unpublished writers. Entries of up to 2,200 words
on any theme or subject.

prize is £500 with other prizes of £100, £50 plus an additional local

some brilliant courses based in London at the Faber Academy. From beginner
courses to courses aimed at simply getting the words on the page, or plotting
out your next book (sign me up!) You need a bit of dollar in your pocket but
they offer you support and focus over a good length of time.
