After a plethora of digital top ten hits in the last year, the team behind HarperCollins’ commercial imprint Avon is launching its own digital-first imprint, called Maze. The new imprint is delighted to announce its first acquisition – Humbugs and Heartstrings by Catherine Ferguson.
Editor Helen Bolton acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Elly James at Heather Holden Brown. Bolton described the book as "a wonderful Christmas treat, perfect for fans of Jenny Colgan".
Maze will publish Humbugs and Heartstrings in October 2014. Lydia Vassar Smith, Senior Commissioning Editor, says: “We’re delighted to have our first acquisition for Maze. With Avon’s stellar track record in digital publishing we feel that Maze is the perfect platform for the Avon team to create and launch new brands.”
